泰州旅游景点的英文介绍
Taizhou Fengcheng River Scenic Area, nestled along the enchanting Fengcheng River, with its pulse driven by the serene waters and enriched by human life, is an immersive experience of a rare urban ambiance unique to the nation. It underscores the profound historical context of Taizhou through meticulously preserving its rich cultural heritage.
Taizhou, a city born of water, where water is not only the hallmark but also the soul of the city. The Fengcheng River, nurturing generations of Taizhou people, encircles the city with thousands of acres of water, standing as one of the few remaining ancient city rivers in Jiangsu with a millennium-long history.
Embark on a cruise on the river, and immerse yourself in the profound history of "the state established in the South Tang Dynasty." Along the Fengcheng River, more than 30 attractions including Wanghai Tower and Taoyuan Scenic Area bring together the four cultural pillars of Taizhou's history, opera, folklore, and merchant culture.
The core attraction of the scenic area, Wanghai Tower, was first built in the Song Dynasty and rebuilt in the Ming and Qing dynasties. It stands as a symbol of the city's cultural and historical significance, earning the name "the first tower in Jianghuai" from renowned cultural scholar Wen Huaishu. To the west of the tower stands the Wenhui Hall, which was initially built by Teng Zijing in the Northern Song Dynasty. The hall displays historical records of five prime ministers from Northern Song Dynasty who were first officials in Taizhou before ascending to higher positions in Beijing, including Yan Shu, Fan Zhongyan, Fu Bi, Han Qi, and Lv Yijian. In front of the hall stands an eucalyptus tree planted as a symbol of their legacy. The hall also features a bronze statue of Fan Zhongyan created by Wu Weishan, the dean of China's Sculpture Institute.
Coupled with the millennium-old state city ruins and ancient Song City tunnels within the scenic area, all these attractions showcase the glorious history of Taizhou as a city established during the South Tang Dynasty with flourishing culture in Northern Song Dynasty. The state's history and cultural significance are beautifully intertwined with scenic places like Wanghai Tower across the river from Taoyuan Scenic Area. The latter draws inspiration from Kong Shangren's creation of "The Peach Blossom Fan" while staying in Taizhou's Chen Temple, forming along with Taizhou's Meiyuan Opera Theater and Liuluan Folk Stories a unique cultural tourism landscape known as "the Three Villages of Opera Culture." Wandering through this zone is like taking a journey through China's rich opera culture.
In addition to these highlights, the scenic area also features beautiful folklore tales such as the story of Phoenix Maiden and Fei Lai Zhong (a flying bell). On the eastern side of Taoyuan Scenic Area lies a 600-meter-long old stone street paved with bricks and gray tiles. It showcases the ancient streets and alleys of Taizhou from the Ming and Qing dynasties to the Republic era. Here, one can witness grass-roots culture such as theatrical performances and bookstores, along with traditional foods and crafts. This attraction has been designated as a national AAAAA scenic spot.
